Kicks of the Month–November 2k16
Salutations fellow sneaker connoisseurs and welcome to another Kicks of the Month Edition!
This month, although it doesn’t seem it, stands in that weird fall-winter transition, thus marking the transition of what clothes and sneakers one should wear. Without further adieu, let’s get to it: my top three shoes that you should wear during this month.
First up are Foamposites:
These classically comfortable sneakers are known for being next-to-indestructible, very warm, and very controversial. Personally, I have always been a fan of these sneakers. They are best worn with long pants, as it gets cold out. For their (on average) $250 retail price, one will receive these beautifully packaged, long-lasting sneakers. Additionally, I’m not lying when I say it feels like I’m walking on a cloud when I take a step in these sneakers. These, as I have mentioned in previous issues, have double stuffed Nike Zoom airbags which are the cause for this comfort. Then, on top of that, the Foamposite material molds to your feet.
Second on my list are Nike Airforce One’s:
Although I don’t personally own a pair of these yet, I am fairly familiar with their overall quality and aware of their feel. They are generally stiffer shoes and tend to keep your feet warm during the colder months. They are also generally classified as skateboarding/casual wear shoes. In the past, the all-white colorway was very popular but recently has seen a decline. The Nike Airforce One shoe is also one of the cheaper mainstream shoes. Furthermore, like the Air Jordan 1, they come in many colorways and are even customizable on the Nike ID website.
Personally, I have always wanted to get the all-cork pair from the Nike ID website of these, but I just haven’t gotten the chance.
The third and last pair of shoes on my list for this month are the Retro Air Jordan 10s:
These sneakers, specifically, are the Double Nickle 10s and are on the more expensive side, generally going for $200-300 if not more. The 10s are one of my favorite retro Jordans for the reason that they don’t crease very easily and are very comfortable. Upon seeing these for the first time, I was sure that they would be very prone to creasing and showing signs of wear, but only after I bought a pair for myself did I see that I was very wrong. They keep my feet very warm and are very comfortable to wear as well. In addition, most colorways tend to match daily outfits too; I don’t have to go out of my way to find something to match them with.
Thus, if you were to get even one of these three sneakers that I suggested you will be all set on footwear for the upcoming months.
Enjoy the upcoming weather changes and the sneakers that go along with it,
Philip Passes
