Microsoft bought Nuance which is speech recognition for $16 billion, which is their second-biggest deal in the history of the company. Microsoft has decided to recently expand by buying many companies because if Microsoft branches out more there will be less of a chance that Microsoft will collapse. Microsoft is buying more than just Nuance, Microsoft is also planning to buy Discord for $10 billion which is an app for chatting. Discord will be good for Microsoft because Microsoft will get lots of information cheaply from young people since young people are the main demographic that buy and use Discord. The purpose of Nuance within Microsoft is to update the cloud products to improve the health situation of the communities Microsoft serves. Overall, these decisions will both be good for Microsoft and should be made immediately before these companies decide to leave the offer.
