Kawhi Leonard’s Return – A Gift Like No Other
The sheriff is healed and ready for his return. The long anticipated return of Spurs superstar Kawhi Leonard will come to a conclusion tomorrow, December 12th, when the Spurs take on their rival, the Dallas Mavericks. Kawhi Lenord has not played once this entire NBA season due to a quad injury he suffered in the offseason. This injury was completely unknown to the public and in typical Spurs fashion, the Spurs didn’t disclose any information on the injury. This left reporters, fans, and the entire NBA waiting anxiously to know when Kahwi Leonard would return from his injury. Even though their best player has been out the whole season, this has not slowed down the San Antonio Spurs from starting the season blazing hot. Currently, the Spurs have an impressive record of 19-8 which is good enough for 3rd in the Western Conference. In order to achieve this great start to the season, the Spurs have enjoyed the re-emergence of vintage LaMarcus Aldridge, who has averaged 22.7 points per game along with 8.1 rebounds per game, and marquee offseason acquisition Rudy Gay, who has averaged 12.4 points per game. Even though the Spurs have managed to do extremely well without their superstar, the return of Kahwi Leonard is definitely an early Christmas present for the San Antonio Spurs.
