Adele’s New Album, “30” Out Soon

Recent speculation regarding a new album by Adele has been confirmed, and she is expected to drop her new album “30” soon. After the billboard campaign, Adele has been teasing her fans with the release of her finished album and even went as far as to play a clip for them on an Instagram live.

Adele fans first began theorizing about the release of a new album when the number “30” was seen making appearances on buildings and billboards around the world. For those that don’t know, Adele’s three previous albums have been titled “19”, “21”, and “25”. These numbers correspond to the year of her life for which the music in the album is about. These album titles, as well as Adele’s ‘playing hard to get attitude as noted with the release of her previous albums, meant that it was very well within Adele’s potential to pull off a stunt like that to hint at the release of her album, and the fans were absolutely right. Later, Adele even went on to grace the covers of Vogue and British Vogue, putting her in the spotlight for when the album drops.

The singer went on to confirm that the finished album would be released soon, although she neglected to confirm the date. However, Taylor Swift announced that she would be pushing up the release of her expected album “Red (Taylor’s Version)” from November 19 to November 12, and many hypothesize that doing so is an effort to minimize competition on the charts between Adele and Taylor for their new album; leading people to believe that Adele will be releasing her new album somewhere around mid-November. Regardless of when the album comes out, Adele has announced the release date for her single “Easy on Me” on Twitter and Instagram to be October 15. She even went on to play a snippet of it on her Instagram live, featuring the heartbreaking lyrics “There ain’t no gold in this river that I’ve been washing my hands in forever / I know there is hope in these waters but I can’t bring myself to swim when I am drowning in this silence / Baby, let me in.” She concluded the live stream by joking that she was in trouble and went on to post a black and white video of the same song with an instrumental piano accompaniment. In the video, Adele is driving down an empty road and pops a cassette tape into the car system, and it sure sets the tone for her expectedly melancholic spirited album.

The album is reportedly about her divorce, and more so about her relationship with her young son -Angelo Adkins, soon to be nine years old- throughout it. She went on to say that the purpose of the album was so that she could “Explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his 20s or 20s, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness.” Adele split from former husband Simon Konecki, the father of her child, and although the divorce was amicable, it led to a particularly rough time period of her life. Currently, the two live across from each other and raise their son together. This album is arguably one of her most raw and emotional albums, and she even shared it with her father Mark Evans, despite their rocky relationship, before he passed. Her vulnerability is commended and it goes without saying that the album is sure to be intense.

Adele never fails to impress with her sheer talent and potential. Everyone is insanely excited for this new album, and people couldn’t be more excited to give the talented singer’s new album a listen once it drops.
